Detwiler earns prestigious PIMA honor

Photo submitted – Tom Detwiler, Vice-President/General Manager of the Domtar-Johnsonburg Papermill, has been named the Mill Manager-of-the-Year by the Paper Industry Management Association (PIMA). Tom received this prestigious honor on April 25 at the PaperCon 2012 conference held in New Orleans, and accepted the award in front of fellow mill managers from across the country.

Tom Detwiler, Vice-President/General Manager of the Domtar-Johnsonburg Papermill, has been named the Mill Manager-of-the-Year by the Paper Industry Management Association (PIMA). Tom received this prestigious honor on April 25 at the PaperCon 2012 conference held in New Orleans, and accepted the award in front of fellow mill managers from across the country.
As recognition of his award, Tom received the high honor on April 27 when his service to the mill and community was officially noted by United States Congressman Glenn Thompson (PA-5).
In a speech given on the floor of the House of Representatives in Washington, DC, the Congressman honored Tom Detwiler for his recent award as PIMA Mill Manager-of-the-Year and 38-plus years of service to the Johnsonburg Mill. The Congressman’s speech honoring Tom was broadcast worldwide on the Cable Satellite Public Affairs Network. 
On May 3, United States Congressman Glenn Thompson visited Johnsonburg and presented Tom Detwiler with an official copy of the Congressional Record signifying his PIMA award and 38-year career at Johnsonburg.  Martin Lorrion, Vice President of Manufacturing for the Region 1 Domtar Mills, and Jim Mertes, Senior Director-Labor Relations, and the mill management team participated in the presentation and applaud Tom for this prestigious honor.
Tom resides in Ridgway with his wife, Kathy, and has two grown daughters, Lauren and Lynn, who live in Williamsport, PA.
