Dennis Michael Carlini, 68, of 148 Spruce St., Brockway, died Thursday, May 26, 2011 at DuBois Regional Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 9, 1943 in Ridgway, son of the late Michael and Virginia Eukon Carlini.
On June 8, 1983, he married Denise "Dee Dee" Esposito of Brockway, who survives.
He was a member at St. Tobias in Brockway, where he also served as an usher for many years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served during
the Vietnam era. He was a member of the Ridgway Elks, Falls Creek Eagles Club, NRA; and Parson-Marnatti Post #95 of the America Legion. He was also a member of the Sigel Sportsmens Club.
He loved to go hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler Fan.
He was the owner/operator of Carlini Bus Company and drove school buses for the Ridgway Area School District. He also had been employed at Brockway Pressed Metals prior to becoming the owner of "The Den" tavern in Brockway, which he operated for 34 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael (Kristine) Carlini of Brockway; a daughter, Marcy Carlini of Rocky Mount, N.C.; and two grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Michael Carlini and Virginia Petitti, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Carlini.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Dennis Michael Carlini will be held Tuesday, May 31 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Tobias Church in Brockway, with the Msgr. Charles Kaza officiating.
Full military services will be accorded by American Legion Parson-Marnatti Post #95 at the cemetery. Burial will take place at St. Tobias Cemetery in Brockway.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home at 8:45 p.m. Sunday evening.
