Danz arrested in N.C., facing extradition

MECKLENBURG CO., N.C. - Following his apprehension in Matthews, N.C. on Wednesday, Richard A. Danz, 47, of St. Marys, wanted by authorities in connection with felony charges alleging he defrauded Elk County businesses and private investors, was charged as a fugitive and released Thursday on $30,000 bond in a Mecklenburg County, N.C. district court.
According to Sergeant David Harrington of the Matthews Police Department, Danz was arrested at an undisclosed location in Matthews, N.C. on Wednesday. He was taken into custody without incident and is currently awaiting extradition, at which point he will be returned to face the charges against him in Pennsylvania.
