Daniel J. Hill

Daniel J. Hill, 45, of 201 Tyler Ave., Ridgway, died Saturday evening, Aug. 16, 2014 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh following a brief illness.
He was born July 9, 1969 in Ridgway, son of the late John F. and Janis L. (Snyder) Hill. He married Tanya M. Hlavac on May 21, 2005. He had resided in Ridgway all of his life and was a member of the Ridgway Church of the Nazarene, and the Ridgway Moose. Dan was a graduate of the Ridgway High School, Class of 1987. He had been employed by the County of Elk as a corrections officer for 10 years.
Surviving besides his wife, Tanya M. Hill of Ridgway, are two children, Conner J. Hill and Mariah R. Hill, both at home; three sisters, Laura J. Hill of Ridgway, Kathleen E. Hill of Ridgway, and Michelle L. Cummings of Emporium; one brother, Michael P. Hill of Union City; and four nieces and one nephew.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Mark C. Hill.
A Memorial Service for Daniel J. Hill will be held at the Ridgway Church of the Nazarene on Thursday, Aug. 21 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Miller, pastor of the Ridgway Church of the Nazarene. Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral Home on Wednesday, Aug. 20 from 6-8 p.m. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Ridgway Ambulance Corp.
