ECC baseball players celebrate after winning the D9-A baseball title over Johnsonburg.

ST. MARYS – Timely hitting from Elk County Catholic's bottom of the order helped put the Crusaders back at the top in District 9 baseball.
Elk County Catholic used six combined hits from the No. 8 and No. 9 hitters in the batting order to hold off Johnsonburg 10-7 in the District 9 Class A baseball championship game Thursday afternoon at Berwind Park in St. Marys.
"Johnsonburg never quits," Elk County Catholic coach Father Eric Vogt said. "That's why they were the No. 1 seed. They played good baseball. They gave everything they had."
