Crusaders rally to win opener 5-3 over Ridgway

April 2, 2014

Austin Amacher, 11, started on the mound for the Elkers on Wednesday afternoon, working four innings.

Facing a three-run deficit early in Wednesday afternoon's game, the Elk County Catholic Crusaders rallied to defeat the Ridgway Elkers 5-3 in a contest that was the season opener for both teams.
It may have been overcast and a bit chilly, but both teams were happy to finally be on the field playing baseball.
"It's good to be outside," said ECC head coach Fr. Eric Vogt. "The third day of the year we're outside and we play a game. We got the win though."
