Crusaders edge DCC 4-3 in eight innings to advance to title game

BROCKWAY — The Elk County Catholic Crusader baseball team waited until the last moment Tuesday afternoon to tie the game with DuBois Central at 3-all in the bottom of the seventh inning, then got a single from Dan Singer to score Dan Stauffer in the eighth inning to send the Crusaders to the District 9-A championship game with a 4-3 victory.
Elk Catholic trailed 3-1 going into the home half of the seventh inning. With one out, Singer singled and moved to second on a single by Jeff Wehler. With two outs, Brandon Schlimm doubled scoring both Singer and Wehler to knot the game at three.
