Crusaders down Rams to reach 9-A championship game

Taylor Feronti of Johnsonburg has a shot defended by Cory Huff of Elk County Catholic during a 66-47 ECC win Wednesday night in the Class A semifinals.

CLARION — The Elk County Catholic Crusader basketball team advanced to the District 9 Class A championship game by defeating the Johnsonburg Rams by a 66-47 score Wednesday night at Clarion University.
The Crusaders were able to take advantage of a poor shooting night by the Rams. Johnsonburg was 15 of 53 from the field for 28 percent while Elk Catholic was 20 of 38 for 61 percent. Elk Catholic was seven of 17 from behind the three-point arc while the Rams wee three of 29.
