Crusader baseball remains undefeated

Elk County Catholic moved to 14-0 on the season with a 15-2, five-inning victory over Ridgway Tuesday afternoon at Sandy Beach Recreational Park.
After a scoreless first two innings, the Crusaders would open the game up with an eight-run outburst in the third. The inning started as a fairly routine flyball off the bat of Josh Zelinski was dropped in left field. That was followed by a Dan Stauffer single, Stauffer finished the afternoon with a team-leading four RBI. ECC leadoff man Vincent Jacob then doubled home Zelinski for the game's first run. Brad Dippold hit an RBI groundout and was retired 6-3, the groundout scored Stauffer and gave ECC a 2-0 lead. Ivan Wortman then walked and Dan Singer followed with a RBI double of his own to score Jacob for ECC's third run.
