ST. MARYS – The SGL Warriors Elk County Relay For Life team will be presenting their sixth LOL Stand Up Comedy Show and dinner at the Edgewood Hall in St. Marys on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m.
Co-captain of the SGL Warriors and event planner Bill Babik said tickets for the event sold out earlier in the week.
"This is the first year we are sold out this far ahead of the event," Babik said. "It's going really good and we will continue to host the event."
Babik and co-captain Brian Reid plan to host another comedy event in early March of 2012.
Special guest comedian Paul Venier, the "One Man Comedy Tornado," will be providing the entertainment for the evening.
"We have been told this guy is the best," Babik said. "We have seen him and he is very funny."
According to Babik, Venier has performed on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and other national broadcasts.
"He's hard to get," Babik said. "You have to book him six months in advance because he books up pretty fast."
Venier will perform for two hours starting at 7:30 p.m.
"We started out at Elk Casino with 250 people and now we are getting up to 350 people for the event," Babik said.
All of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
The SGL Warriors raised the most money out of 29 teams in Elk County last year with over $16,000.
