Clara B. Leary

Clara B. Leary, 90, formerly of 501 Smith St., Ridgway, died Friday evening, July 4, 2014 at Penn Highlands Elk following a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 27, 1924 in Kane, daughter of the late Earl and Iva (Bradybaugh) Young. On Nov. 24, 1945, she married Gerald M. Leary who preceded her in death June 19, 1992.
Clara resided in Ridgway for most of her life and was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church. She was a graduate of Kane High School. She had been employed by Gorman's for five years as a clerk.
She is survived by one son, Thomas Leary and Janet of Toby Valley; two daughters, Renee (George) Saline of Ridgway and Janice (Rich) Martire of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren, Erica Heindl and Jeremy Saline; four great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Brady and Colby Heindl, and Evelyn Saline; one sister, Betty Abbott of Port Allegany; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Holmberg; and six brothers, Earl, Kenneth, James, Wardell, Ronald and William Young.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Clara B. Leary will be celebrated at St. Leo Catholic Church on Monday at noon. Officiating will be Fr. Brian E. Vossler, pastor of St. Leo Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Leo Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral Home on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Memorials can be made to the Ridgway Fire Department, Ridgway Ambulance Corp. or St. Leo Catholic Church.
