Charles J. Schutz

Charles J. Schutz, age 80, formerly of Brockway, and currently a resident at Christ the King Manor in DuBois, passed with his loving family at his side on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 26, 1932, in St. Marys, son of Jerome and Dorothy Dill Schutz.
He married Mary Lou Renwick, she predeceased him on Sept. 27, 1965.
Charlie was a member at St. Tobias Church in Brockway.
He as a member of the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima, Brockway American Legion Post# 95; Ridgway Elks Lodge #872; Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council #3794; Fourth Degree Member of St. Martin of Tours Assembly.
Charlie also managed Brockway Little League Baseball for several years.
He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan, Pittsburgh Pirate fan and a Penn State fan.
He had been employed at Airco Carbon as a Lab Technician in Quality Control before his retirement.
He is survived by two daughters, Debi (Gerald) Knisely of Reynoldsville, and Lisa (Mike) Kweder of Brockway; four sons, Kevin Schutz of Brockway, Jeff (Sue) Schutz Ridgway, Brian (Susan) Schutz of Monaca, and Scott (Tracy) Schutz of Ft. Worth, Texas; two sisters, Grace (Pete) Yankovich of Ridgway, and Louise (Chuck) Ashley of Sun City, Calif.
He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a brother, John Schutz; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Schutz.
Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 9 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 at 10:15 a.m. at St. Tobias Church in Brockway.
As a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran, full military honors will be accorded by Parson-Marnatti Post #95 of the American Legion Saturday morning at the cemetery.
A Vigil Service will be held Friday evening at 8:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
Officiating Clergyman will be Msgr. Charles Kaza.
Place of burial will be in St. Tobias Cemetery in Brockway
