Charles Edward King

Charles Edward King, age 67, a resident of Elgin, South Carolina, died Sept. 8, 2011, Columbia, South Carolina following a brief illness.
He was born Dec. 7, 1943, in DuBois, son of Robert E. and Betty J. Steinbach King
On Aug. 15, 1963, he married Sylvia Kay Hicks. She preceded him in death.
Occupation: Charles was a 1962 graduate of Brockway High School.
He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving from September of 1962 until August of 1966. He retired from Owens-Brockway Glass where he worked in repair and construction services.
Charles was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Brockway.
He enjoyed fly fishing, and hunting with his son, brothers and nephews. He also liked woodworking.
He is survived by a daughter, Kimberly (Donald) Yonkie of Columbia, S.C., a son, Charles Jeffrey (Rhonda) King of Columbia, S.C.; two brothers, Kenneth (Janet) King of Brookville and John (Sharlene) King of Brockway; his father-in-law, Charles Norman Hicks of Grampian; four grandchildren, five nephews and six nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife, mother, and mother-in-law, Irene Britton Hicks.
There will be no public visitation. Private Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Officiating clergyman will be Rev. Tom Henretty. Place of burial will be Parklawn Memorial Gardens at Ridgway.
