The Ridgway-Elk County Chamber of Commerce provides a wide variety of benefits to its members.
Many businesses and individuals in the area may be unaware of the promotional opportunities it provides.
For instance, through membership, an organization called "Chamber Choice" can provide low-cost health insurance to members who may not otherwise have the option.
"'Chamber Choice' belongs to most Chambers and this allows them to provide group rate health insurance at a lower cost to anybody who joins the Chamber," said Mary Kucenski, Ridgway-Elk County Chamber of Commerce Administrative Assistant. "We have people who join the Chamber simply to be able to get the rates from 'Chamber Choice' for the health insurance."
Through another partnership, the Clarion University Small Business Development Center will assist anyone who is starting a small business or who has just started one.
"Our members have the opportunity to work with them on the partnership and get information about what they are doing and what is going on," Kucenski said.
Other benefits include a quarterly newsletter, "Your Chamber Connection," designed to keep its members up-to-date and informed of local events and business information.
"Focus Breakfasts" will be held on the second Wednesday of each month. During the breakfast, members will be brought up to speed on news and events. Members are also encouraged to share ideas, concerns and information, as well as providing the opportunity to get to know one another.
Applications to join the Ridgway-Elk County Chamber of Commerce are available on their website at www.ridgwaychamber.com or by contacting administrative assistant Mary Kucenski at (814) 776-1424.
