Catherine A. "Kitty" Bergant

Catherine A. "Kitty" Bergant, 76, of 6515 Ridgway Rd., Johnsonburg, and formerly of Pittsburgh, died Tuesday evening, Sept. 27, 2011 at the residence of her daughter, Toni Ritchey, in Forbes Road.
She was born March 21, 1935 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Patsy and Theresa Steinbach Cherry
On March 2, 1962, in Johnsonburg, she married Donald J. Bergant, who preceded her in death on March 6, 2004.
She grew up in Johnsonburg, had resided in Pittsburgh from 1962 to 2004 and re-resided in Johnsonburg since 2004. She attended Johnsonburg High School and had been employed by Stackpole Corp. of Johnsonburg for several years.
She is survived by a daughter, Toni Ritchey and her husband Thomas Ridella of Forbes Road; two stepsons, Donald R. Bergant of Louisiana and John G. Bergant; three grandchildren, Anthony Ritchey of Oakland, Calif., Zach Ritchey of Winchester, Va., and Deni Ritchey of Boulder, Colo., a sister,
Theresa, Mrs. David Wolfe; four brothers, Dick Cherry and his wife Pearl, Joe Cherry and his wife Joyce, Frances Cherry and his wife Glenda and Raymond Cherry and his wife Gail, all of Johnsonburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by four brothers, Albert, John, Pat and Anthony Cherry; and a sister, Rose Haight.
A memorial service for Catherine A. "Kitty" Cherry will be conducted at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg, on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor of Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
