Caroline Colaprete

Caroline Colaprete, 95, a resident of Elk Haven for the past three years, formerly of Ridgway Road, Johnsonburg, and 224 Wild Goose Ln., St. Marys, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the Elk Haven Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 22, 1918 in Lewiston, N.Y., daughter of Pietra Lilla and Frederick Luparelli Albion. On Oct. 17, 1942, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., she married Philip Colaprete, who preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1995.
She was a graduate of Niagara High School. In 1948, Caroline and her husband started Philips Jewelers in Johnsonburg. They moved their business to the St. Marys Plaza in 1968, and then moved to their present location in 1990. She did the store's bookkeeping and worked with the customers.
Mrs. Colaprete was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She was a wonderful wife and mother, always positive and supportive. She enjoyed working and talking with the people who came to the store. She also greatly enjoyed going to dinner and listening to the opera.
She is survived by a son, Art Colaprete of St. Marys; a daughter, Arlene Park and her husband William of St. Marys; five grandchildren, David Colaprete of Clarion, Christine Ray-Graver of Kersey, Michael Park and Eric Park of St. Marys, and Sherrie Kahl of Brockport; and 11 great-grandchildren, Sierra and Brandon Colaprete, Lucas and Ethan Schreiber, Derek, Adam and Karly Park, Cassidy, Reina, Brendon and Kolton Kahl; and by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Teddi Colaprete; a son-in-law, Robert Brian; two sisters, Nancy Martinez and Beatrice Mazzu; seven brothers, Art, Joe, Ag, Carl, Ciesar Albion, and two brothers in infancy. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Funeral services for Caroline Colaprete will be held in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, St. Agnes Worship Site, N. St. Marys Street on Thursday, April 3, with the Rev. Eric Hart officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Ridgway. Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Elk Haven Nursing Home, 785 Johnsonburg Rd., St. Marys, Pa. 15857.
