JOHNSONBURG – The recent change to the bus routes at the Johnsonburg Area School District continues to alarm parents.
Several concerned parents attended Thursday night's Board of Director's meeting voicing their concern.
Concerned parent Diane Jundzilo of Johnsonburg asked the board if there has been any recent changes made since October's meeting.
"Have you done anything in regards to changing the routes," asked Jundzilo. "Just because there is not a pile of parents here does not mean they do not know what's going on."
According to board secretary Lisa Mahoney, Charles Charney and other teachers and students are utilizing a GIS [geographic information system] to help record data of the current bus routes.
"The system integrates the hardware, software and the data that we would capture from the GPS on the routes," Mahoney said. "It would list the stops; what time they are; how far between; and it would map out the entire run.
"In addition to that once all of that information is gathered, it's downloaded into the system and it will actually layer the maps and the routes on top of each other so we can see it."
