Brockway Legion defeats Ridgway, 8-3

June 22, 2014

Luke Hoffman threw two scoreless innings for Ridgway against Brockway Sunday evening.

Brockway used a strong five-run first inning to propel themselves to an 8-3 victory over Ridgway Sunday evening at Sandy Beach Recreational Park.
Brockway had a 5-0 lead before Ridgway even took a swing as the Legion team took advantage of patience at the plate. Brockway walked four times in the opening half-inning. Bret Carr led off the game with an infield single and then stole second base. Hunter Antonuccio then walked and Mike Martino doubled home Carr for Brockway's first run. Jake Foradori singled home Antonuccio for a 2-0 Brockway lead and Braden Martini then walked. After a strikeout, Seth Shugarts walked with the bases loaded to plate Martino for a 3-0 Brockway lead. Zach Foradori then reached on a Ridgway error to score Jake Foradori for a 4-0 lead. After a fielder's choice, Carr walked with the bases loaded to plate Shugarts for Brockway's fifth run of the inning.
