Boy Scouts benefit from United Way funding

ST. MARYS – The Bucktail Council, Boy Scouts of America covers an area including Elk, Cameron, Jefferson and Clearfield counties, and the western portion of Centre County, and consists of 2,300 scouts and nearly 1,000 leaders, according to scout executive Greg Bennett. The Bucktail Council is one of the organizations that receives funding from the St. Marys Area United Way. Bennett explained that this funding is indispensable to the organization, as it makes up between eight and nine percent of the Bucktail Chapter's $650,000 to $700,000 annual budget.
