Highland firemen go to bat for young leukemia victim Print E-mail

The Highland Township Volunteer Fire Department is helping a young Rasselas girl, who has been diagnosed with leukemia. The fire department has donated several items, including carnival tickets for the James City Days and a stuffed animal. Taking part in the gift presentation are, left to right, front row: Hannah Barnett, an 8-year-old girl who was diagnosed with leukemia in 2006; and her brother, Brock, 6; back row: Dan Hulings, chief of the Highland Township Volunteer Fire Department; Derek Barnett, father of the cancer victim; Erin Barnett, mother of the cancer victim, who is holding their 1 1/2-year-old son, Brayden; and Bill Edinger, deputy fire chief.
