Flora E. Powell, 87, of 1455 West Kane Road, Kane, died Thursday evening, August 12, 2010 at Pinecrest Manor in St. Marys, where she recently resided.
Born February 4, 1923 in Ridgway, she was the daughter of Harry R. and Gail Fox Rhines. 
On February 2, 1943 in Ridgway, she married Jack R. Powell, who died November 17, 2009.
A graduate of Johnsonburg High School, she later worked at the former Holgate Toy Company, the Kane Shirt Factory and Smith Laboratory, all in Kane. She was a member of The Presbyterian Church in Kane.
Surviving are two sons, Glenn R. (Linda) Powell and Richard A. (Trudy) Powell, both of Kane; four grandchildren, Jackie Cecchetti, Shaun, Barbie and T.J. Powell; and great grandchildren Matt and Sarah Cecchetti.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband and parents, are a brother, Harry R. Rhines.
Friends may call from 10 until 11 a.m. on Monday, August 16, 2010 at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane, at which time a service will be held there with the Rev. W. Craig Smith, pastor of the Mt. Jewett - Hazel Hurst United Methodist Churches, officiating.  Interment will be in held later in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Kane.
