JOHNSONBURG – A house destroyed by fire in late December in Johnsonburg was razed recently.
The home, located in the 200 block of Blaine Avenue, went up in flames shortly after midnight on Dec. 20, 2013.
The call came in at 12:33 a.m. to 204 Blaine Ave., a residence situated along a borough road running parallel to the state Route 219 bypass.
George and Lisa Pontious of Johnsonburg reportedly resided at the residence, according to Corporal Greg Agosti, a fire marshal with the Ridgway-based State Police.
Agosti indicated that the fire appeared to have started somewhere on the second floor of the house, and fire apparently spread to the attic as the second floor and attic were fully engulfed in flames and smoke.
Damage was estimated at $150,000.
