Anthony J. (Butch) Asti

Anthony J. (Butch) Asti, 73, of 11 East Cardott St., Ridgway, died Friday morning, March 7, 2014 at his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born Jan. 14, 1941 in Johnsonburg, son of the late Tony and Mildred (Aiello) Asti. He married Sandra L. Mecca on July 22, 1961; she survives. He had resided in Ridgway since 1961 and was a former Johnsonburg resident. He was a graduate of the Johnsonburg High School. He was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Ridgway.
Butch enjoyed playing cards with his friends at the Moose. He loved his 1974 Ford F-100 and was a Steeler fan and avid gardener.
He had owned Asti's Comet in Johsonburg for nine years and retired from Metaldyne after 25 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra L. Asti of Ridgway; one daughter, Christina (Scott) Zimmer of Ridgway; two sons, Anthony (Victoria) Asti of Ridgway and Todd Asti Sr. of Ridgway; seven grandchildren, Stephen and Tessa Asti, Todd (T.J.) Asti Jr., Erica Asti, Louis and Scarlette Zimmer, Michael Asti and his fiancee Kristin Steis, Joey Asti, and Jill Asti; three great-grandchildren, Alexa Asti, Jake Zimmer, and Kambree Asti; two brothers, Julian (Rita) Asti of St. Marys and Dennie (Janice) Asti of Johnsonburg; three sisters, Lucille Haight of St. Marys, Dorothy Lindenmuth of California, and Delores Fulton of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Frank (Gally) Asti; four sisters, Theresa Croyle, Evelyn Danner, Mildred (Nana) Salter, and Frances Mecca; one niece, Lisa DeMay; and one nephew, Al (Tuffy) Fulton.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Anthony J. Asti will be celebrated at St. Leo Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 12 at 11 a.m.
Officiating will be Fr. Brian Vossler, Pastor of St. Leo Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Ridge Cemetery in Kersey.
Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 11 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A wake service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:45 p.m. Memorials, if desired, can be made to the Community Nurses, Inc. at 757 Johnsonburg Rd., Suite 200, St. Marys, Pa., 15857.
