Anne L. Merley, 83, formerly of Rattlesnake Road, Brockport, and resident at Highland View Health Care in Brockway, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Highland View.
Anne was born Dec. 28, 1930 in Brockport, the daughter of the late Robert and Alma Place Hutchins. Retired, she had been employed at Brockway Glass as an executive secretary in the engineering department. Anne was a member at the Lanes Mills United Methodist Church. She enjoyed shopping, taking immaculate care of her lawn and garden, and visiting with her family and friends.
She is survived by a brother, Gerald (Ida Marie) Hutchins of Kersey; three nieces, Denise Washburn, April Shetterly, and Nita Pickett; and two nephews, Dwight and Tim Hutchins. Anne is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Ronald L. Merley; and twin brothers, Robert and Ronald Hutchins.
A funeral service for Anne L. Merley will be held on Saturday, April 26 at 10 a.m. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway with Pastor Bob Trask officiating. Friends may call on Friday, April 25 from 7-9 p.m. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Brockway Ambulance Association.
