Alice A. Ginther, 91, of 1767 Bucktail Rd., St. Marys, died on Friday, March 16, 2012 at Pinecrest Manor following a lengthy illness.
She was born Nov. 27, 1920 in Truman, a daughter of the late George and Anna Bates Filling.
On Oct. 28, 1944 in First United Methodist Church, she married Urban Ginther, who survives.
Alice graduated from Emporium High School and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She greatly enjoyed ï¬shing and picnicking in Hicks Run.Â She also enjoyed crocheting and crossword puzzles. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband of nearly 68 years, Urban Ginther, she is survived by two sons, Wayne Ginther and his wife Flora of St. Marys, and Ronald Ginther and his wife Debbie of Stony Point, N.Y.; one daughter, Cindy, Mrs. Donald Wingard of St. Marys; seven grandchildren, Dawn, Mrs. Ben McGrath, Paul Ginther and his companion Pam Romanic, Stephanie, Mrs. Joe Tucker, Jason Ginther and his wife Erica, Matthew Ginther, Travis Wingard, Amy, Mrs. Eric Zakrzewski; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joy Elain Ginther in early childhood, a daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Ginther; and four granddaughters, Brenda, Rhonda, Nancy and Tracy Ginther.
Funeral services for Alice A. Ginther will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 140 N. St. Marys St., St. Marys, on Wednesday, March 21, 2012Â at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Chris Kindle, pastor, ofï¬ciating.Â
Burial will be in the St. Marys Protestant Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys, on Tuesday evening from 5-8 p.m.
