Alfreta Louise Markelonis

Alfreta Louise Markelonis, age 97, a Keystone Road, Brockport resident, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012 at Highland View Health Care Center in Brockway.
She was born Nov. 26, 1914 in Walburn Run, daughter of the late Sherman and Cora Dunlap Starr.
She was married to John Albert Spare, he died on Nov. 20, 1964. She then married Dan Markelonis and he died on Sept. 19, 1978.
After her retirement, Alfreta along with her sister and her nieces did lots of traveling. She also enjoyed playing cards and watching baseball, especially the Pittsburgh Pirates.
She had worked at Brockway Glass for 30 years in the Decorating Department before her retirement.
She is survived by two daughters, Bobbie Lou (Louie) Galluzzi of Brockport and Jean A. Lindemuth of Brockway; one son, Paul Richard (Deanna) Starr of Brockport; eight grandchildren, Louis Paul Galluzzi, Richard A. Starr, Linda Dee McKay, Gregory Paul Starr, Robert Alan Lindemuth, Michael Lee Lindemuth, Brenda Lee Lindemuth and Lisa Kay Patton; 17 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Alfreta was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; two brothers, Ivan and Raymond Starr; and six sisters, Bessie Himes, Ella Chatfield, Twila Proctor, Verna Myers, Alice Himes and Mildred Starr.
Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway.
Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 19 at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. at 1 p.m. with Rev. Terry Felt as officiating clergyman.
Place of burial will be Lakelawn Memorial Park in Reynoldsville.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the charity of the donors' choice.
