Alfred F. Dubler

Alfred F. Dubler, 81, of Montclair, Calif., died on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012 at the Upland Rehab and Care Center.
He was born Jan. 11, 1931 in Ridgway, son of John and Doris Lindgren Dubler.
Mr. Dubler was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1949. In 1951, he served in the USAF during the Korean War, having served a tour of duty in S. Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1954 then continued in the reserves until 1958. He attended the Williamsport Institute of Technology, then apprenticed in industries in Pennsylvania and California and learned his tool and die-maker Trade. He retired from his trade on Jan. 21, 1991. During his retirement he enjoyed his family, friends, home and their cabin in the mountains. Al was a sports enthusiast of football and baseball.
His family was his first love. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Brady Dubler; and three children: David and his wife Debbie of Wrightwood Calif., Darlene Fritchel of Alta Loma, Calif., and Sandra and her husband Donald Watson, also of Alta Loma.
He dearly loved his eight attentive grandchildren: Kellie Fritchel, Brittany Fritchel-Christopherson and her husband Andrew; D.J., Hayley and Spencer Watson; Ian, Hannah and Mariah Dubler.
He is also survived by two brothers, The Rev. Herb Dubler and his wife Andrea of Connellsville, and Jack Dubler and his wife Barth of Maumee, Ohio. He also is survived by a special cousin, Mary Eileen Culp and her husband Ralph of Warren, Ohio; two aunts, Lucille Beck of Endicott, N.Y. and Florence Dubler of Johnsonburg. He also had numerous nieces and nephews. His dog, 'Whiskers,' had a significant place in his life also.
A worship service will be led today, Saturday, Dec. 29, by Rev. Herb Dubler, and a celebration of his life will be held. He will then be interred in Bellevue Memorial Park on G. Street in Ontario. Family and friends were invited to continue his celebration of life at their home in Montclair.
