Aggressive Dutch wrestlers use 6 falls en route to 57-17 win

January 6, 2014

Ridgway's Drew Baumgratz, front, battles Dutchman Garret Cook during Saturday's dual meet. Baumgratz scored sudden victory after three scoreless periods.

The St. Marys Area Flying Dutch had little trouble dispatching the Ridgway Elkers Saturday evening in a 57-17 win.
"Overall I thought our guys were really fired up for this match," said Dutch head coach Dominic Surra. "It's always a rivalry and it really doesn't matter how the records are, both teams just show up for this match. I thought our guys really wrestled hard, we were aggressive, went for quick takedowns, and I thought even in the matches that we lost, Ridgway had to earn those matches.
"It was a good night for us, a good team effort."
