Ramettes advance past Lady Lions

JOHNSONBURG – It didn't have to be pretty or have a ton of style points but the Johnsonburg Ramettes were happy to take a playoff victory.
Johnsonburg overcame errors early and held off a furious comeback in the seventh inning to take a 10-8 victory over Clarion-Limestone Monday afternoon at Knothole Park in the first round of the District 9 Class A softball playoffs.

BROOKVILLE – Johnsonburg girls track and field swept the relay races, set three new school records in the process and finished second in the girls teams standings at the 2014 District 9 Class AA track and field championship Friday at Brookville High School.

JOHNSONBURG – DuBois Central Catholic mounted a furious comeback in the late innings Wednesday to complete a 16-10 win in eight innings and spoil Johnsonburg's Senior Night celebration in the process.
The Ramettes were staked to an 8-3 lead after five innings only to squander it away with a mistake-riddled six-run sixth inning by the Lady Cardinals to pull ahead by a run. Johnsonburg tied the score with two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning before DCC knocked in six more runs in the eighth inning

Rams lose season finale to DCC, 7-1

JOHNSONBURG – In many ways, Wednesday was the end of an era for Johnsonburg baseball.
Johnsonburg lost 7-1 to DuBois Central Catholic Wednesday afternoon in the final game for seniors Cole Peterson, Cameron Grumley, Taylor Feronti, Eric Bevacqua and Nate Field.

Elkers, Rams split doubleheader in final rivalry games

For the foreseeable future, Monday was the last time Ridgway and Johnsonburg baseball will play each other.
Next year, they are scheduled to co-op under the Johnsonburg banner as one baseball team and in Monday's doubleheader each team took one victory. Johnsonburg won 1-0 in the opening game before Ridgway finished with a 15-3 win in five innings in the nightcap.

Ridgway Elker baseball shuts out Cameron County, 4-0

Ridgway baseball defeated Cameron County for the second time this season with a 4-0 victory over the Red Raiders Friday afternoon at Sandy Beach Recreational Park.
Jeremy Breier threw 6 1/3 innings of shutout baseball for the Elkers while Ben MacDonald recorded the final two outs to get the save. Ridgway won 12-3 over Cameron County on April 26.

Johnsonburg, St. Marys win team titles at Elk County Meet

JOHNSONBURG – The Johnsonburg girls track and field team and St. Marys boys track and field team won team championships at the Elk County Track and Field Meet held Thursday afternoon at Johnsonburg Area High School.

JOHNSONBURG – Johnsonburg baseball couldn't wait to get the unpleasant aftertaste of Tuesday's loss out of their mouth.
Their ace made sure the Rams didn't have to wait until Friday.
Johnsonburg senior starting pitcher Cole Peterson threw a complete game shutout and struck out 10 in a 6-0 victory over Brockway Wednesday afternoon at Knothole Area Recreational Park.

JOHNSONBURG – The Brockway Lady Rovers took advantage of five doubles and a six-run second inning en route to an 8-6 win Wednesday against Johnsonburg with playoff seeding implications on the line.
The Ramettes played catchup the rest of the game but never could complete the comeback after being down 6-2.
