JOHNSONBURG – Johnsonburg baseball couldn't wait to get the unpleasant aftertaste of Tuesday's loss out of their mouth.
Their ace made sure the Rams didn't have to wait until Friday.
Johnsonburg senior starting pitcher Cole Peterson threw a complete game shutout and struck out 10 in a 6-0 victory over Brockway Wednesday afternoon at Knothole Area Recreational Park.

JOHNSONBURG – The Johnsonburg Rams dropped a 7-2 tennis match Tuesday to visiting Brockway.
At No. 1 singles, Brockway's James Matson defeated Mason Walters 6-3, 6-4; at No. 2 singles, Aaron Barraclough defeated Nate Field 6-0, 6-1; at No. 3 singles, Brockway's Sam Hawkins won 6-3, 6-4 over Tyler Martonik; at No. 4 singles, Tyler Foradori won 6-0, 6-1 over Zane Hodgdon; at No. 5 singles, Brenden Dauber won 1-6, 7-6(7-5), 11-9 over Adam Sabatose.

Elk County Catholic moved to 14-0 on the season with a 15-2, five-inning victory over Ridgway Tuesday afternoon at Sandy Beach Recreational Park.

ECC's Alan Brennen captures D9-AA singles tennis title

It took almost two and a half hours, but Alan Brennen of Elk County Catholic captured the District 9 Class AA singles tennis championship by defeating his teammate Drew Meyer in three sets.
Meyer won the first set by a 6-4 score. Brennen came back to knot the match at one-all by winning the second set 6-3. The two battled in the third set with Brennen coming out on top by a 7-5 score.
"This was an excellent match and I am very proud of both young men," said ECCHS coach Aaron Straub.

Kane baseball team defeats Rams 11-7

The Kane Wolves baseball team defeated the Johnsonburg Rams 11-7 on Tuesday at Pat Santilli Field. The win was the first of the season for the Wolves, who were playing in only their second home game of 2014.
