Ridgway boys basketball wins season opener

December 6, 2014

It wasn't perfect, but it was more than enough for Ridgway to win Friday's season opener.
The defending District 9 Class A champions opened the 2014-2015 season with a 56-19 victory over Smethport Friday night at Ridgway Area High School.
"It's a good way to open the season," Ridgway coach Anthony Allegretto said. "The Smethport kids are starting up a new program, it seems like. They played hard, their coach was very positive with them. They played hard, they played clean. They were lacking the shooting and the ball-handling to handle the press."
