Rams overpower Wolves for 69-36 win

JOHNSONBURG – Johnsonburg junior Kevin Benson (24 points) and senior Zane Hodgdon (15 points) combined Tuesday night to outscore the Kane Wolves basketball team (1-3) in a 69-36 win in the Paper City.
"I don't know what our shooting percentage was but it must be one of the highest that we've had all year, and that has to do with taking the proper shots," Johnsonburg head varsity boys basketball coach Bill Shuey.
The Rams (5-3) dominated on the boards Tuesday night as they built a commanding lead and never looked back.

Rams edge North Clarion, 60-53

JOHNSONBURG – While some passes slipped away from Johnsonburg boys basketball Monday night, the Rams made sure the game didn't.
Johnsonburg closed out the game on a 12-5 run to take a 60-53 victory over North Clarion at Johnsonburg Area High School.
The Rams outscored North Clarion 23-12 in the fourth quarter.

Ridgway wrestling pins Gators in Saturday matinee

Ridgway wrestling used a multitude of bonus points to take a 51-21 win over Port Allegany in a dual meet held Saturday afternoon at Ridgway Area High School.
Ridgway picked up five forfeits and a pin to help overtake the Gators.

Ridgway girls basketball downs Harmony, 56-35

Ridgway girls basketball defeated the Lady Owls but balanced scoring had the Lady Elkers' offense in a sense of harmony.
Ridgway girls basketball broke a five-game losing streak to start the season with a 56-35 victory over the Harmony Lady Owls Friday night at Ridgway Area High School.

Ridgway wrestling defeats Curwensville Golden Tide, 45-32

Ridgway wrestling defeated Curwensville 45-32 in a dual meet Thursday night at Ridgway Area High School.
Curwensville won six of the 11 matches wrestled on the mat but Ridgway was aided by three forfeit wins to take the team victory.
"It was a good team win," Ridgway coach David Fordoski said. "There were obviously matches out there that I felt we could have wrestled a whole lot better in. You got to be happy with what you have as a team. There were times that we lost matches because we didn't have enough kids out there. This year, we have a full lineup and it makes a big difference."

Johnsonburg girls basketball falls to Bradford, 45-23

JOHNSONBURG – Johnsonburg girls basketball lost 45-23 to Bradford Wednesday night at Johnsonburg Area High School.
Bradford was led by Rylee Lundgren, she finished with a game-high 19 points for the Lady Owls. Ashley Imbrogno led Johnsonburg with 11 points.
Lundgren opened the scoring with a hoop 35 seconds into the game to give Bradford a 2-0 lead. Imbrogno then followed with a three-pointer off the glass to give the Ramettes a 3-2 lead, the only lead of the game for Johnsonburg.

Elinski pin caps off Johnsonburg home dual with Rovers

JOHNSONBURG – Although the Rams lost in the team aspect, Johnsonburg ended the night on a positive note.
A Joey Elinski pin would give the Johnsonburg grapplers its lone win on the mat during a 55-12 win over Brockway Tuesday night at Johnsonburg Area High School.

Johnsonburg Rams let Brookville slip by in 39-37 loss

JOHNSONBURG – Turnovers and poor shooting may have cost the Rams the game Monday night as the Brookville boys basketball team escaped a sloppy fourth quarter by both teams for a 39-37 victory over Johnsonburg.
The Rams led by as many as six points in the third quarter but were unable to completely close the door on the visiting Raiders.

Lady Elkers fall to Brookville, 44-26

A 9-0 Brookville run after halftime spurred the Lady Raiders to a 44-26 win over the Ridgway Lady Elkers Monday night at Ridgway Area High School.
