Ramettes use offensive outburst in doubleheader sweep over Sheffield

JOHNSONBURG – The Johnsonburg Ramettes added two more to the win column Monday and scored runs at an explosive pace in sweeping a doubleheader against Sheffield.
The Ramettes won the first game 10-0 in five innings with starting pitcher Jenna Hoffman throwing a one-hit gem; the team followed that performance with an 18-5 win over the Lady Wolverines, also in five innings.

JOHNSONBURG – The accomplishments are many and players like Cole Peterson and Cameron Grumley are so rare.
Peterson and Grumley’s accomplishments were highlighted and celebrated as part of the Johnsonburg boys basketball banquet held Sunday night at Johnsonburg Area High School.

The Johnsonburg Ramettes made sure to get out of the rain quickly Friday afternoon.
Johnsonburg used a patient hitting attack and an eight-run second inning to take a 13-0, five-inning victory over Oswayo Valley at Francis S. Grandinetti Elementary School.

Bradford uses late innings to drop Rams, 6-4

JOHNSONBURG – The Johnsonburg Rams were in a slippery and wet driver's seat Friday until a pair of sloppy innings caused them to stumble to the finish line in a 6-4 defeat against visiting Bradford.
With on and off rainfall through the game, the Rams held a 3-0 lead until the Owls used a pair of three-run innings to take the lead.

Big sixth inning helps Clarion overtake Ridgway, 10-7

The little things can make a big difference and they sure were a difference Thursday afternoon.
Defensive and baserunning miscues hurt the Ridgway Elkers during a five-run sixth inning for Clarion baseball in a 10-7 win for the Bobcats Thursday afternoon at Sandy Beach Recreational Park.
Ridgway made six errors for the game while Clarion made four errors.

Johnsonburg baseball wins second straight, downs Golden Tide

JOHNSONBURG – Whether it was at the plate or on the mound, Taylor Feronti made sure the Rams would end up victorious Wednesday afternoon.
Feronti pitched a complete game for Johnsonburg and hit a go-ahead 2-run home run as the Rams won 3-2 over Curwensville Wednesday afternoon at Knothole Area Recreational Park.

Dahler ready for second MMA fight in Orlando

Ridgway native Dakota Dahler has moved to a new location, has enlisted new training and is looking for a new result in his second MMA fight which will take place this weekend.
Dahler will fight Michael Shepherd this Saturday in an event entitled “Combat Night at the Roxy.” The event is intended to raise funds and awareness for autism and will be held in Orlando, Fla. Dahler said the fight will be shown through Combat’s web site the next day. More information on Combat Night can be seen on their Facebook page by searching “Combat Night.”

Johnsonburg splits track and field meets with Kane

Johnsonburg track and field split the two meets in action against Kane Tuesday afternoon at Kane High School.
Johnsonburg won the girls meet 89-50. Kane won the boys meet 115-30.

Ramettes' stifling pitching, defense stymies ECC in 2-1 win

It just might be the "Burg Way" after all.
Armed with a cooperative sports agreement between Ridgway and host school Johnsonburg, the Ramettes on Tuesday scored a 2-1 win over visiting Elk County Catholic in a softball game held at Francis S. Grandinetti Elementary School in Ridgway.
Starting pitcher Alexa Marciniak scattered one hit and an unearned run in five innings of work for the Ramettes before giving way to relief pitcher Taylor Roseto who secured the win with two scoreless innings.

Ridgway baseball falls to St. Marys in extra innings

Missed opportunities were becoming the norm as St. Marys Area and Ridgway continued to pile up zeroes on the linescore Tuesday afternoon.
St. Marys broke that trend in the ninth, broke the scoreless tie and came away with the victory.
A Shane Haberberger one-out single brought home RJ Johnston to give the Dutch the only run of the game in a 1-0, nine-inning victory over Ridgway Tuesday afternoon at Sandy Beach Recreational Park.
