Elk County Major League All-Stars edged by DuBois, 15-14

JOHNSONBURG – The Elk County Boys Majors All-Star team wouldn't let DuBois just have the victory easily.
After trailing 5-0 and 14-7, Elk County had a sixth-inning rally fall short by a few feet as DuBois won 15-14 over Elk County Friday night in a District 10 Tournament elimination game at Knothole Park in Johnsonburg.

ST. MARYS – A St. Marys man was reportedly held at gunpoint Thursday night outside Sheetz in St. Marys.

Preparation work at Decker’s Chapel

ST. MARYS – Contractors are in the process of preparing the site around Decker’s Chapel as the restoration project continues. The ground has been excavated around the chapel’s perimeter, however, recent rainfall has dampened conditions at the site.

ST. MARYS — The Elk County Major League all stars eliminated the St. Marys squad from the District 10 Tournament on Wednesday by a 7-5 score in seven innings.

Ridgway baseball falls to Bradford in Elk County Legion playoffs, 10-0

BRADFORD – The Ridgway Legion team had much less success on the road Wednesday night than at home a night before.
A night after a 5-4 walkoff win against Fox Township, Ridgway managed only one hit in a 10-0, six-inning loss to top-seeded Bradford at the Kessel Athletic Complex at Pitt-Bradford.

Ridgway Legion rallies past Fox Township

What could have been a downer of a defeat turned into an exhilarating victory in the seventh inning.
After surrendering three runs in the top of the seventh to give up a 3-1 lead, Ridgway scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to take a 5-4 win over Fox Township in the opening game of the Elk County Legion League Playoffs Tuesday night at Sandy Beach Recreational Park.

Trees fall on Glen Hazel Road

Several trees were reported to have fallen on roadways throughout Jones Township after a storm Tuesday night. Pictured are several area residents as they helped to remove three trees that had fallen on Glen Hazel Road in Jones Township.
