Louis L. Gerhart, 87, of Folino Drive, Wilcox, died Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Elk Regional Health Center after a lengthy illness.
He was born December 18, 1925 in Kane, son of the late Louis L. and Sarah (Heasley) Gerhart, Sr.
On January 28, 1950 he married Elizabeth J. â€śBettyâ€ť Raubenstrauch, and she survives.
Born and raised in Kane, he lived in Johnsonburg from 1950-54, the DuBois area from 1954-97 and has been a Wilcox resident since 1997. He was a graduate of Kane High School.
Pamela Leathers Bogan, 59, died unexpectedly at her home in Pittsburgh, on Saturday, March 16, 2013. A daughter of Armand and Viola Thomas Leathers, she was a graduate of Ridgway Area High School and recently an employee of Allied Barton Security Services at Point Park College. She is survived by a sister, Doretta Leathers, of Blairsville, PA; an aunt and uncle, Dr. and Mrs. John Leathers of State College, PA and by numerous cousins. She will be sadly missed by family and friends. Interment will be made in Morningside Cemetery, DuBois. A private memorial service will follow.
JOHNSONBURG â€“ The Johnsonburg Area High School Drama Club presented â€śMirror Image: A Real Enchanted Musicalâ€ť on Friday, April 5. The performance also will be presented Saturday, April 6 with a 1 p.m. matinee and 7:30 p.m. show. This production is the 17th annual drama club play under director Ginger Schreiber and assistant Lann Yurchick.
Timothy Skerl, 50, of 82 Squirrel Dr., Lake City, died unexpectedly Friday morning, April 5, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 17, 1962 in Pittsburgh son of the late Edward J. and Norma J. [Ellwood] Skerl. He married Jill A. Trumbull on July 7, 2007. He had resided in the Ridgway area for the last 20 years and was a former Renton resident. Tim enjoyed working outside, repairing cars, hunting and fishing. He had been employed by Continental Construction for 11 years.
Joan Marie Rhines Carlini (Joanie), born June 14, 1941 completed her service here on Earth April 4, 2013 and went home to be with her Heavenly Father.Â
She passed peacefully at home with family.Â Joanie was a committed member of Word Tabernacle Church, where she was an Altar Counselor and a Prayer Intercessor.Â She lived her life excited to tell everyone about the power of Jesus Christ and His love for them.Â
A Johnsonburg man charged with operating what authorities deemed "a sophisticated and significant marijuana grow operationâ€ť from his home, was sentenced in Elk County Court Thursday to serve 12 to 24 months behind bars in Elk County Prison.

Violet E. Breakey, 86, of Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys died on Wednesday evening, April 3, 2013 at Elk Haven following a lengthy illness.
She was born on October 19, 1915 in Ridgway to Swedish immigrants Otto and Lilly Larson Magnuson.
She married Donald M. Breakey in September of 1956. He died in 1965.
Once again the Ridgway-Elk County Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Manager Michelle Bogacki are busy preparing for the Fourth Annual Community Wide Yard Sale scheduled for May 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine.
