KANE â€“ A court hearing for a Mt. Jewett couple charged with endangering the welfare their three adoptive children has been postponed in Kane District Court.
COUDERSPORT â€“ A Coudersport man charged with fatally shooting his ex-wife in the midst of a Sunday morning church service waived his hearing on murder charges in a Potter County District Court Wednesday.

Nellie H. Nitsche, 97, of the Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys, and formerly of Wilcox, died Wednesday afternoon, April 3, 2012, at Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys following a lengthy illness.
She was born October 15, 1915 in Brookston, daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine Szaidek Wantuck.
On November 23, 1938 in Holy Cross Church, Rasselas she married Frank J. Nitsche, and he preceded her in death July 16, 2003.
She resided in Wilcox most of her life. She had lived at Silver Creek Terrace for five years.

Helen M. Powell, 90, of 221 Cook Ave., Ridgway, died Monday morning, April 1, 2013 at Elk Haven Nursing Home.
She was born Dec. 30, 1922 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Maurice and Mary [Kielocker] MacDonald. She married Roland A. Powell on May 18, 1946, he preceded her in death on Nov. 25, 2009. She had resided in Ridgway since 2005 and was a former Silver Spring, Md. resident.
