Area residents are the recipients of a recent mass mailing for the 2013 Ridgway YMCA Healthy Communities Campaign.
JOHNSONBURG â€“ The Borough of Johnsonburg may soon have its own website.
During Monday afternoon's regular council meeting Johnsonburg resident Stephanie Carnessali proposed the idea to create a website showcasing events, announcements and other general information for the public.
Margaret J. Reynolds, 66, of 120 Fraley St., passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 at Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys.
Born July 14, 1946, in Warren, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Melva Roades Seth Sr.
Mrs. Reynolds had worked as an aide at the Lutheran Home at Kane. Prior to that, she had been employed by Sylvania and the former Kane Diner.
She was a member of the Kane VFW Lodge #1132, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie # 307, and had belonged to the former Moose Club in Kane.
CW2 Charlie Morgan, 48, of the New Hampshire National Guard passed away on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013. She was surrounded by the love of family and friends at the time of her passing. She lived in New Durham, N.H. with her wife Karen and daughter Casey Elena. Charlie was a veteran who deployed to Kuwait in 2010 and received a Meritorious Service Medal for her work as the Brigade Equal Opportunity Advisor. She was a board member of the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network and Outserve who fought tirelessly for marriage equality and human rights.
The defense attorney for a Ridgway man charged with federal weapons possession has asked the court for more time to compile a more "accurate and complete" account of his client's criminal history before the matter is taken to trial.

Submissions for the 2013 Elk Expo Patch Contest have been narrowed down to 10 finalists and it is now up to the public to determine which will be turned into the patch for this year's Elk Expo.
JOHNSONBURG â€“ Corporal Greg Agosti, a fire marshal for the Ridgway-based State Police, reported investigating a fire that occurred Sunday afternoon at 236 Blaine Ave. in Johnsonburg.
ERIE â€“ Jury selection in the trial of Richard Allen Danz, 48, of St. Marys, federally indicted on charges of wire fraud and money laundering, will commence in federal court in Erie during the court term beginning May 6, 2013.
The St. Marys Neighborhood Girls Scouts are busy planning their upcoming trip to the Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Military Park. The educational trip, taking place May 10-11, is open to all area scouts and their female family and friends as they tour the park, dine and sleep over in a battleship and visit Niagara Falls.
