Walter J. Polaski, 83, of Highland View Health Care in Brockway and formerly of Johnsonburg, died Tuesday morning, July 23, 2013 at Highland View Health Care following a lengthy illness.
He was born on Aug. 6, 1929 in Johnsonburg, son of the late Lawrence and Josephine Euken Polaski.
He married Dolores Espin in 1954. She died in October 1998.
Walter resided in Johnsonburg his entire life and graduated from Johnsonburg High School.
He was a member of the Holy Rosary Church, Rolfe Sportsmen's Club. He loved hunting and fishing and was an antiquer.

Gary Lee Fitch, 64, of Phoenix, Ariz., passed away unexpectedly as a result of a sudden heart attack on July 5, 2013.
Charles J. Cuneo, 66, of 116 Hemlock Road, St. Marys, died Sunday, July 21, 2013, at the DuBois Nursing Home.
He was born Aug. 26, 1946 in Ridgway, son of the late Joseph and Margaret Lee Cuneo.
He was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a graduate of St. Marys Public High School, Class of 1964 and also attended Jeff Tech. He was a retired employee of SGL Carbon Company, retiring in 1998.
On Aug. 14, 1976 in the Sacred Heart Church, he married Catherine M. Marconi, who survives.
The St. Marys Little League Softball senior league all stars defeated Plains 4-3 Monday afternoon to win the state championship at Ber-Vaughn Park in Berwick.

Cleaver sang "God Bless America" at the Pittsburgh Pirates game on Sunday, July 14 while the Concert Choir of Elk County sang the national anthem. Cleaver treated the hometown faithful to an encore of "God Bless America" at the start of the parade Saturday.
Frances L. Olewinski, 83 of 724 Marvin St., Wilcox, formerly of Johnsonburg, died Thursday afternoon, July 18, 2013 at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born on March 30, 1930 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Bronislaw and Josephine Kolinoski Piurkoksi.
She married Henry A. Olewinski on Aug. 15, 1950 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg. He died Oct. 17, 2008.
She resided in Wilcox most of her life.
Mrs. Olewinski was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School in 1948.
Donna M. Corey, 65, of 613 West Main St., Ridgway, died Friday, July 19, 2013 afternoon at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was born Nov. 22, 1947 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Harry T. and Nellie M. (Yale) Ecklund.
She married Joseph A. Corey on March 29, 1969, he survives.
She had resided in Ridgway all of her life and was a 1965 graduate of the Ridgway High School.
She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. She had been employed by Elk Regional Health Center for 45 years.
JOHNSONBURG â€“ Corporal Greg Agosti, a state fire marshal at the State Police barracks in Ridgway reported Friday afternoon that the cause of the fire at Domtar paper mill Friday, July 12 is still under investigation.
Sara Kucenski, a 19-year-old Ridgway native, recently began leading a youth group at St. Leo Magnus Roman Catholic Church in Ridgway.
