Douglas had high level of drug in bloodstream

KANE – An affidavit of probable cause filed in Magisterial District Court 48-3-04 shows Kathleen S. Douglas, age 37, of North Tionesta Avenue, Kane, had "levels of the Schedule IV controlled substance Clonazepam (that) were several times greater than they should have been given the dosage prescribed" when she was involved in a fatal crash that killed six people.

Johnsonburg residents concerned about lengthy train stops

Lady Elkers win 10th straight game

The momentum is there for Ridgway girls soccer heading into the postseason.
Ridgway extended their winning streak to 10 after a 5-1 victory over Brockway Monday afternoon at Francis S. Grandinetti Elementary School.
"Across the board, solid play. Every one of them," Ridgway coach Greg Maddalena said. "They know I wasn't real happy with the last performance against Smethport. They just stepped their game up as a team. That's all I want. We're such a balanced team, we have the athletes to do it. We just got to do it."

The Elkers won 316-345 over the Raiders to capture the AML crown for the second year in a row.

Martonik crowned homecoming queen

JOHNSONBURG – Paige Martonik was crowned as the 2013 Johnsonburg Area High School Homecoming Queen Friday night at halftime of the varsity game between Ridgway and Curwensville. Martonik was escorted by Caleb Anderson. Paige Secco was the runner-up, she was escorted by A.J. Benson. Crownbearers for the evening were Zoe Grunthaner and Eli Schreiber.

Douglas charged in fatal crash

HAMLIN TWP. – A police criminal complaint and affidavit of probable cause were filed Friday charging Kathleen S. Douglas, age 37, with multiple felony counts and related charges stemming from an Aug. 31 two-vehicle crash that killed six people on state Route 219 in Hamlin Township.

Betty Jean Yale, 69, of 220 Fairview R, Kersey, and formerly of 123 Hollow Rd., Kersey, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at her home after a lengthy illness.
She was born April 16, 1944 in Baxter, daughter of the late Harold C. and Betty K. Wonderling Terwilliger Sr. She was a lifelong resident of the area, attended Kersey schools, and was a graduate of St. Marys High School, Class of 1962.
On Nov. 19, 1967, in Brockport, she married Richard W. Yale, who preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 2009.
