Monday, Aug. 17 – Ridgway Borough Council at 7 p.m. at the Ridgway Borough Municipal Building; First day of official fall high school sports practice.

Tuesday, Aug. 18 – Ridgway Township Supervisors at 7 p.m. at the Ridgway Township Municipal Building.

Thursday, Aug. 20 – Boys Golf-Ridgway at Brockway, 3:30 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 22 – Football- Ridgway at Port Allegany, 10 a.m. (scrimmage)

Fire in Ridgway elicits response from two departments

August 13, 2015

A fire along North Broad Street shut down state Route 219 in Ridgway for over an hour as nearly 25 firefighters were on scene to combat a structure fire at 1050 North Broad Street.
The Ridgway Fire Department, Elk Company 4, was dispatched to North Broad Street at 12:29 p.m., and the Johnsonburg Fire Department, Elk Company 2, was dispatched at 12:38 p.m.

Laura Goetsch of Whites Creek, Tenn. won Saturday's match in high power rifle at the NRA National Silhouette Championships held at the Ridgway Rifle Club this past week. The championships are scheduled to return to Ridgway in 2017.
