Ridgway football wins in Paper City, moves to 4-0.

JOHNSONBURG – In the second quarter, Coudersport couldn't hang on to the ball and had the game slip away too.
Three straight fumble recoveries by Ridgway on Falcons' possession ballooned a 14-0 margin into a second half with the mercy rule as the Elkers defeated Coudersport 42-6 Friday night at Memorial Field in Johnsonburg to start the season 4-0.
It's Ridgway's first 4-0 start since the 1992 season.

Ramettes roar back to topple Lady Wolves, 3-1

JOHNSONBURG – Despite an early one-set deficit, the Johnsonburg Ramettes roared back Thursday night to take a 3-1 (20-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-19) win over visiting Kane.
"I think we need to build on this win," Johnsonburg head varsity volleyball coach Bill Shuey said following the win which pushes his team's record to 2-3. "We showed that we don't quit. Kane really had the momentum and were doing some good things but we were able to fight back. We kept fighting and we have to keep doing that as we move on.

Ridgway girls soccer wins second consecutive match

Ridgway girls soccer won their second straight match with a 5-1 victory over the Smethport Lady Hubbers Wednesday afternoon at Francis S. Grandinetti Elementary School.
Ridgway’s defense was not challenged much during the match as the Lady Hubbers mustered just three shots on goal agains the Lady Elkers.

Ridgway boys soccer moves to 6-1

Ridgway boys soccer extended their winning streak to four matches after a 3-1 win over Smethport Tuesday afternoon at Francis S. Graninetti Elementary School.
"We got work to do. We've been finding out some things about some people," Ridgway coach Todd Voss said. "I think we got some real good motivation here to win on Friday. That was a good win for us. That was a young team but Peter (Butler) always coaches well."

Lady Elkers defeat Lady Wolves in five sets

The Ridgway Lady Elkers won the first game of Tuesday’s volleyball match in Kane rather handily, 25-11. The rest of the match wasn’t so easy as the two teams battled back and forth in a five-set marathon before the visitors won by a score of 25-11, 23-25, 25-19, 22-25 and 15-13.

Lady Dutch volleyball defeats Johnsonburg 3-0

The St. Marys Area Lady Dutch volleyball team defeated the Johnsonburg Ramettes 3-0 last night in a match played at the SMAHS Dutch Oven.
The Lady Dutch won the first set 25-16. They took the second set 25-21 and won the third set 25-20 to win the match.

With two starters out due to injury and a strong Port Allegany girls soccer team coming in, Ridgway coach Greg Maddalena was concerned with Monday's matchup.

Unexpected goal scorers and a balanced offensive attack led Ridgway to a 5-4 win over Port Allegany Monday afternoon at Francis S. Grandinetti Elementary School.

Johnsonburg volleyball falls 3-0 to DuBois

JOHNSONBURG – Johnsonburg volleyball lost 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 27-25) to DuBois Monday night at Johnsonburg Area High School.
“A lot of inconsistency,” Johnsonburg coach Bill Shuey said. “We can’t seem to put a whole game together. Although I thought in the third game there was more consistent play than the first two. You can tell by the score, it was the closest of the three. Although, there we were, we probable had that game won a couple times and then just made three errors in a row.”
