The Ridgway soccer programs were honored with a banquet Monday night at the Ridgway Area High School cafeteria.
The boys soccer, girls soccer and junior high soccer programs were all honored. Each team had a scholar-athlete award recipient. The boys soccer scholar-athlete was Bryce Dias and the girls soccer scholar-athlete award winner was Rachel Smith. The junior high soccer scholar-athlete award winner was Anna Cristini.
Rachel Guyer of Ridgway finished as a state medalist after an eighth-place finish at the 2014 PIAA Cross Country Championships held on Saturday at Parkview Cross Country Course in Hershey.
It drew runners from across the state, including both the Elk County Catholic High School girls' and boys' squads and four runners from St. Marys Area High School.
Guyer finished eighth in a time of 19:40.

Ridgway football captured its first Allegheny Mountain League championship since 1993 with a 28-21 win over Cameron County in the AML Championship Game Friday night at Cameron County High School.
Elk County Catholic is wasting little time in advancing through the District 9 volleyball playoffs.
ECC made it two sweeps in a row in the playoffs with a 3-0 (25-8, 25-14, 25-13) victory over Curwensville Thursday night in a District 9 Class A quarterfinal match held at Elk County Catholic High School.
Elk County Catholic volleyball moved to 15-0 overall and moved forward to the District 9 Class A quarterfinals with a 3-0 (25-7, 25-5, 25-12) victory over Ridgway Tuesday evening at Elk County Catholic High School.
The Ridgway Lady Elkers (No. 16 seed at 6-10 in the regular season) had little trouble Monday night as they defeated the Northern Potter Lady Panthers (No. 17 seed at 6-8 in the regular season) 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, 25-22) in a play-in game for the District 9 Class A playoffs.

An overtime goal for DuBois Central Catholic gave the Lady Cardinals a 1-0 win over Ridgway in the District 9 Class A girls soccer semifinals held Monday night at Frank Varischetti Field in Brockway.
JOHNSONBURG â€“ After two failed attempts, the Johnsonburg Shamrocks didnâ€™t need any Lucky Charms to find the Cereal Bowl championship pot of gold by the end of Saturday night.
Johnsonburg built a 30-point lead in the first half and was able to take the varsity Cereal Bowl 43-15 over Ridgway at Memorial Field in Johnsonburg.
JOHNSONBURG â€“ It took one play for the Johnsonburg Shamrocks to take control of the Cereal Bowl.
An opening touchdown run on the first play of the game was a harbinger of things to come as the Shamrocks won the CPYFL junior varsity championship game 31-0 over the St. Marys Gold Stallions Saturday afternoon at Memorial Field in Johnsonburg.
CURWENSVILLE â€“ If it's been an AML opponent, it's been an AML victory for the Ridgway Elkers this season.
Ridgway moved to 8-0 against AML opponents with a 40-28 victory over Curwensville Friday night at Riverside Stadium in Curwensville.
It was Ridgway's first win over the Golden Tide since the 2003 season.
