JOHNSONBURG â€“ Johnsonburg boys tennis lost 7-2 to DCC Tuesday afternoon at Johnsonburg Area High School.
JOHNSONBURG â€“ Johnsonburg softball used a huge 10-run first inning to help coast into an 11-1, five-inning win over Sheffield Monday afternoon.
Before the game, five seniors were honored for the Ramettes. Those seniors were Alexa Marciniak, Raimi Akers, Emily Spiers, Carly Shaffer and Sierra Kos.
"I'm very proud of the seniors, the way they played. They all got to play. They played well for us," Johnsonburg coach Mary Thorwart said.

As the temperature went up Saturday morning, so did Johnsonburg's level of play.
Johnsonburg baseball made quick work of the Curwensville Golden Tide for a 14-0, five-inning win at Sandy Beach Recreational Park.
"It was nice to come out and get a win like that," Johnsonburg assistant coach Wayne Zilkofski said. "The kids really came out and swung the bat well."
JOHNSONBURG â€“ Elk County Catholic boys tennis defeated Johnsonburg 8-1 Friday afternoon on a hot day at Johnsonburg Area High School.
"Was very pleased with our play today," Elk County Catholic coach Aaron Straub said. "We had an opportunity to play three non-regular singles players in today's match and they all played very well."
Ashley Imbrogno of Johnsonburg was named as the Elk County Meet girls field MVP Thursday. Imbrogno set a new meet record in winning the javelin.
Johnsonburg baseball head coach Jeff Peterson could only describe his win Thursday against Brockway in one word.
Johnsonburg moved to 8-6 on the season with a 5-0 win over Brockway Thursday afternoon against the Rovers at Sandy Beach Recreational Park in Ridgway Township.
Johnsonburg hosted the annual Elk County Junior High Meet Monday afternoon at Johnsonburg Area High School, winning the team meet and setting new meet records in the process.
Johnsonburg won the meet with a total of 96 points. ECC was second at 52.5 points and St. Marys took third at 37.5 points.
JOHNSONBURG â€“ One more hit at the right time and Johnsonburg could've had a happier ending to Tuesday's game with DCC.
Johnsonburg baseball could not get the clutch hit when needed and fell 3-2 to DuBois Central Catholic Tuesday afternoon at Knothole Park in Johnsonburg.
JOHNSONBURG â€“Â DuBois Central Catholic sophomore Riley Assalone shut down Johnsonburg for the second time in eight days with a 13-3 six-inning win Tuesday in Johnsonburg.
Assalone struck out five of the first six batters she faced and didn't allow a baserunner until the fourth inning with one out. She finished with 10 strikeouts in the win. She beat the Ramettes 7-1 last Wednesday in DuBois.
