Lady Elkers sweep Kane Lady Wolves on Senior Night

Ridgway volleyball made Senior Night a happy one as the Lady Elkers rallied in all three sets for a 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-20) victory over Kane.
“I’m so happy for them,” Ridgway coach Janet Redmond said. “To come back, all three games we were down by a lot. That just shows the determination. We got the ball up so we could have an offense. They worked. It was nice to get all the seniors in. I’m really proud of them. I wish them all the best in their future plans. I’m just so happy for them. We needed that because we’ve been on a downslide a little bit.”

St. Marys Lady Dutch overwhelm Johnsonburg Ramettes in straight sets

JOHNSONBURG – St. Marys had little trouble dropping Johnsonburg Thursday night as the Lady Dutch volleyball team’s blistering offense overpowered the Ramettes in a 3-0 (25-15, 25-12, 25-16) win.

Ridgway girls soccer finished the regular season with a 1-1 draw with Curwensville Thursday afternoon at Francis S. Grandinetti Elementary School.

Ridgway boys soccer lost 4-2 to Brookville Wednesday afternoon at Francis S. Grandinetti Elementary School.
Brookville took a 1-0 lead with 25 minutes left before adding another goal with 13:50 remaining as Gabe Peterson took a run past the Ridgway defense and weaved his way past Ridgway goalkeeper Phil Waddell for a tap-in goal and a 2-0 lead.

Brockway boys soccer defeats Ridgway Elkers on Senior Night, 5-0

JOHNSONBURG – Brockway boys soccer used a strong first half to take a 5-0 victory over Ridgway Tuesday evening at Memorial Field in Johnsonburg.
Ridgway honored their seniors before the game which were Chris Persinger, Bryce Dias, Justin Kinkead, Mason Walters, Philip Waddell, Dakota Dworsky and Pranay Medapally.

Lady Elkers fall to Brockway in overtime on Senior Night

JOHNSONBURG – After a promising first half, the Lady Elkers could not withstand a Brockway comeback and fell 4-3 in overtime to the Lady Rovers Tuesday at Memorial Field in Johnsonburg.
After building a 3-0 halftime lead, Brockway scored three goals in the second half and then scored three minutes into overtime to take the match.

Lady Owls drop Ramettes in 3 sets

JOHNSONBURG – Despite some inspired volleyball in the first and third sets, visiting Bradford was still able to upend a stubborn Johnsonburg squad 3-0 (25-23, 25-10, 25-22) Tuesday night.
"It was good volleyball at times and I thought the first and third games were hard fought, and there was some good volleyball being played," said Johnsonburg head varsity volleyball coach Bill Shuey following the match.

Lady Dutch volleyball sweeps Ridgway Lady Elkers

St. Marys volleyball won 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 26-24) over Ridgway in varsity action Monday night at Ridgway Area High School.
“We’re starting to get back to where we were in the first half of the season,” St. Marys coach Ken Vogt said. “We’re still not quite there. We need to be faster and we just need to get our heart back, I think.”

Ridgway girls soccer falls to Clarion, 5-1

After a 1-1 halftime score, Clarion girls soccer tallied four goals in the second half to take a 5-1 win over Ridgway Monday afternoon at Francis S. Grandinetti Elementary School.
“They’re a very good team,” Ridgway coach Greg Maddalena said. “We changed our formation. We finally figured out the formation that we wanted to go with against them. We came here and went to a 4-4-2, I thought we played them real well.”

Ridgway boys golf wins third straight AML championship

Ridgway boys golf won the AML championship for the third straight time as the Elkers defeated Brookville 399-444 Saturday afternoon in an 18-hole match at Laurel Mill Golf Club.
Josh Roselli of Ridgway was the overall medalist with 73. Nate Burgeson finished with a 77 and TJ Schlimm followed with an 80. Mitchell Stark finished with an 83 and Mike Sorge carded an 86 to round out the top five.
Nick Simon finished with an 89 and Ben Ames had a 91 for Ridgway. Cory Oknefski had a 94 for the Elkers.
