Cathy Winstead-Severin (Joplin, Mo.) won the national championship in smallbore hunting rifle as part of the NRA National Silhouette Championships being held this week at the Ridgway Rifle Club.
Winstead-Severin finished with a 3-day total of 114 (39-39-36).
Angelica Kuess Davila (Laredo, Texas) was second overall with a total of 107 and Laura Goetsch (Whites Creek, Tenn.) placed third with a 107.
Enrique Kuess Jr. (Laredo, Texas) won the national championship in smallbore standard rifle as the 3-day competition concluded Tuesday at the Ridgway Rifle Club.
Kuess Jr. won the 3-day competition by tying the open national record, finishing with an aggregate total of 116 (39-39-38).
The smallbore team competitions concluded Monday at the Ridgway Rifle Club as part of the NRA National Silhouette Championships.
The overall champion in smallbore rifle was Team Belgrade Air Shooting Sports. The team consisted of Laura Goetsch, Cathy Winstead-Severin and Susan Peery Rice. The three finished with a combined total of 211, five more than second place.
The overall runner-up in standard rifle was Team Mexico with team members Angelica Kuess Davila, Enrique Kuess Sr. and Enrique Kuess Jr. Team Mexico finished with an overall score of 206.
