KANE – The Kane Wolves played with the Ridgway Elkers for a quarter but the Elkers outscored the Wolves 16-5 in the second quarter and cruised to the 62-35 victory in the Wolves’ Den on Friday night.
Both teams had trouble getting the ball in the hoop early in the game. Ridgway’s leading scorer, Jesse Reynolds, had the first basket at the two-minute mark when he sliced through the lane for two. Kevin Cleer knocked down a three for the Wolves that gave the home team a 6-4 lead, which ended up being the last lead they had in the game.
Coming into Friday night's game, the focus was on Kane senior Kaila Jamerson surpassing the 1,000 point mark for her career.
Less than two minutes into the game, mission accomplished for Jamerson.
Jamerson finished with a game-high 16 points as Kane had little trouble in a 55-13 victory over Ridgway Friday night at Ridgway Area High School.
