Crusaders open AML South play with 28-6 win over Elkers

ST. MARYS – A barrage of rushing yards from a trio of Elk County Catholic players led to a 28-6 victory for the Crusaders over Ridgway Friday night.
"I thought both the offensive and defensive lines played really well. The whole team performed well," Elk County Catholic coach Travis Skrzypek said.
Brock McCullough led the Crusaders with 165 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Teammate Hank Cappiello had 81 rushing yards on 16 carries and Joe McLaughlin finished with 41 yards on nine carries. As a team, Elk County Catholic ran for 323 yards.

JOHNSONBURG – Curwensville benefited from downhill running all night long in a 41-0 rout against Johnsonburg Friday night.
Curwensville (4-0) continued their winning ways with over 400 yards of total offense, including 302 yards on the ground, to topple Johnsonburg (1-3).
Curwensville senior starting quarterback Hunter McCracken had his biggest game of the season, passing for 125 yards and a touchdown. But the night belonged to the Golden Tide running attack as five players combined for 302 yards on the ground and five rushing scores.
