June 17, 2012

The Ridgway major league (11-and-12 year old division) softball team opened all-star play Sunday afternoon with a 6-5 loss to Brookville at the Ridgway Little League fields along Grant Road.
Ridgway held a 5-4 lead entering the bottom of the sixth inning before Brookville would score a pair of runs as the designated home team to take the victory. Alissa Watterson started the inning with a walk. After a strikeout, Brookville starting pitcher Karlie McManigle would hit a short single to first. Watterson moved to third on a bad throw, putting two runners on for Brookville.
