Elk County Catholic (16-6) dealt previously undefeated Johnsonburg (20-1) a stunning 5-2 defeat Wednesday afternoon at Sandy Beach Recreational Park, ousting the No. 1 seed from the District 9 Class A baseball playoffs in the process. Throughout the season, one run was often times the difference in a game for the Rams; on Wednesday, just one loss spoiled their season and kept them out of both the district title game and the state playoffs.
