Lady Elkers fall to DuBois, 59-18

Ridgway girls basketball lost 59-18 to DuBois Wednesday night at Ridgway Area High School.
DuBois opened on a 6-0 run to start the game. Cara LaBrasca started with a basket for DuBois, then Jordan Fairman added consecutive field goals.
Ridgway then responded with five straight points as Nicole Breier hit a short field goal in the post and Jenni Thomas buried a 3-pointer for the Lady Elkers.

Lady Crusaders down Lady Rovers, 47-29

ST. MARYS – The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusader basketball team rolled to a 47-29 victory over the Brockway Lady Rovers Wednesday evening at ECCHS.
The two teams kept the score fairly close throughout the first half. ECC held a 10-7 lead at the end of the first period and extended their advantage to 25-15 at halftime. Brockway closed the gap slightly by the end of the third period, reducing ECC's advantage to 31-22.
"We looked a little rusty tonight, but we're playing good defense again," said ECC coach Ken Pistner.
