Ridgway girls golf had a team score of 247 in its home finale Tuesday at Laurel Mill Golf Course.
Senior Brittanei Neubert led the Lady Elkers with a 55. Selena Scarnati had a 58 and Sierra Kos carded a 62. Christine Schauer finished at 72 and Sarah Szczotka finished at 78.
Shannon Truesdale led DuBois with a 51. Corey Pruzinsky was second at 55. Kelly Nowak had a 67 and Katie DeAngelo finished at 70.
Punxsutawney had the lowest score of the six-team field, finishing with a 222.
Truesdale of DuBois was the medalist with her score of 51.
JOHNSONBURG – Johnsonburg volleyball won 3-1 (25-21, 25-16, 20-25, 25-15) over Elk County Catholic Tuesday night at Johnsonburg Area High School.
"It's a good win for the girls against a good team," Johnsonburg coach Bill Shuey said. "They hustled and they played hard. We seemed to be jelling as a team. We still have some things that we have to fix. All in all, they played hard. We minimized our mistakes.
Using timely passing and 29 kills out of 39 attempts, Ridgway improved to 8-0 Tuesday night with a 3-0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-11) victory over Sheffield.
The Lady Elkers overwhelmed the opposition Tuesday night as they only faced three deficits in the three-set victory; Along with 16 aces on the night, the home team made only four errors as Sheffield averaged just 11 points per set.
